Security incidents are increasing dramatically and becoming more sophisticated, making it almost impossible for security analysts to keep up. A cognitive solution that can learn about security from structured and unstructured information sources is essential. It can be applied to empower security analysts with insights to qualify incidents and investigate risks quickly and accurately.

Vijay Dheap, Brant Hale
Vijay Dheap is an innovator specializing in commercializing emerging technologies. He currently leads IBM’s Cognitive Security initiative. He has a broad experience in cybersecurity having launched IBM’s cyber-forensics and mobile security solutions. Dheap earned his MBA from Fuqua School of Business and his master’s in computer engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada.
Brant Hale is a 20-year veteran in IT and network security. He spent 17 years as a Network Security Architect at VC3, INC, a value-added reseller in Columbia, SC, before joining SCANA as a Systems Analyst and helped implement their Integrated Security Operations Center. At SCANA he works with Qradar and its integration with other security tools to keep the ISOC up and running. He recently participated in the Army’s Cyber Shield exercise as a member of the red team and can generally be found in his home lab creating new ways to test and train SCANA’s network defenders.
