Collaborative Security: Securing Open Source Software ( RSA Conference 2017 )
There’s no guarantee that software will ever be free from vulnerabilities, whether it is open source or proprietary, but there is still plenty we can do. The Linux Foundation CTO Nicko van Someren will discuss new tools and techniques that help improve the security and quality of open source projects, presenting data from various open source projects including pre- and post-Heartbleed OpenSSL.

Dr. Nicko van Someren
Nicko van Someren is the Linux Foundation’s Chief Technology Officer, focused on the Core Infrastructure Initiative and other security-focused efforts at the organization. He has extensive experience across the security and networking industries. Most recently, he was the CTO of Good Technology, and prior to this he served as Chief Security Architect at Juniper Networks, where he was responsible for the company’s Network Security products. Before joining Juniper, he was Founder and CTO of the security technology company nCipher Plc. Van Someren holds a doctorate and first-class degree in computer science from Cambridge University in the UK. He is a fellow of both the Royal Academy of Engineering and the British Computer Society.
