In 2012, Salesforce launched a program aimed at increasing the difficulty of a successful phishing attack on their employees. By driving vulnerability reporting through positive incentives and behavioural science, this talk will show how to account for human mistakes to enable a culture where it is “safe to fail” with improved results for incident detection and anti-phishing.

Masha Sedova is an industry-recognized people-security expert, speaker and trainer focused on engaging people to be key elements of secure organizations. She is the President and Chief Strategy Officer at Elevate Security delivering interactive security training based on behavioural science. Prior to co-founding Elevate Security, she was Senior Director of Trust Engagement at Salesforce where she built a team that drove a secure mind set among all employee using user security behaviour testing paired with elements of gamification and positive psychology. The scope of her work ran the gamut from general awareness such as phishing and reporting activity to secure engineering practices by developers and engineers. Her efforts culminated in a security program that altered the way Salesforce's employees, customers and partners and large corporations approach security.
